Gym Ability (Inclusive Opportunities)
Adaptive Gymnastics Classes
Hamilton City Gymnastics is calling on all kids, youths and young adults with physical or intellectual disabilities to come and explore the incredible world of gymnastics!
Our GymAbility classes are the perfect opportunity to learn how to swing, jump, land, and explore new movements in an exciting, encouraging and safe environment.
We offer term time classes, small group bookings and casual drop-ins for all ages.
We have daytime availability for group bookings as well as classes available:
Thursday 2.00-2.45pm and
Our participants progress at their own speed and the adaptive approach means activities can be changed to suit any age or ability depending on the individual’s needs and goals. Take all of this, add loads of fun and you have individuals that learn through exploration and play who are encouraged to be creative with their minds and bodies.
We understand that coming to us for the first time can be a huge challenge with a new environment and unfamiliar faces, skills and space.
We offer interested individuals to come in and observe for a while, to get a sense of what is happening and to feel safe. We don’t put pressure on anybody to join in right away – sometimes it helps to come back again the following week and have another go.
Attend one class per week or multiple (separete fee for each class booked).
So far this year, we have been working with school groups from Patricia Ave School, Hamilton North School and Woodstock Conductive Education as well as our scheduled classes, working with a variety of ages and abilities. If you want to come and observe one of our classes to see how it works, just give us a call or send an email!
Daytime bookings for small groups can be taken at some of the above class times (numbers dependant).
Daytime bookings for larger groups will need to contact us for availaibilty. Bookings can be one-off, for a fixed period (eg. 4 week block), recurring for a term or for multiple terms!
Adaptive Trampoline Classes (Rebound Therapy)
Rebound Therapy is the use of trampolines to provide opportunities for people with disabilities to enhance movement patterns and provide therapeutic positioning, exercise and recreation, vestibular and sensory integration, communication and social opportunities, cross-circular learning, and fun!
These classes are also suitable for neuro-diverse individuals who will benefit from smaller class sizes and the opportunity to have a support person on hand if required.
We are currently offering the following 30 or 45 minutes classes:
